The spectrum and the content of the teaching at the Department are regularly updated to adapt to changing tasks and requirements.

In the core curriculum, basic knowledge in the areas of wastewater process engineering and environmental engineering is  taught in lectures and accompanying exercises.

This basic knowledge serves as a foundation on which to build the main studies Lectures, exercises in calculations, laboratory exercises and practical experience bring deeper and specialized knowledge.

Research represents a further focus of the department, which as well as answering scientific questions, sets special emphasis on the training of young academics.

Undergraduate projects, final year degree projects and postgraduate thesis work offer the opportunity to gain in- depth knowledge in a current/ interesting topic in wastewater treatment.

At the chair of Environmental Process Engineering, great importance is assigned to a competent technical education. At the same time, the students are also encouraged to recognize correlations beyond system boundaries and to consider these conclusions e.g. in plant design. That is the reason why up to two study trips take place per semester.
