The EU Water Framework Directive demands a good status for all surface water bodies. This leads to increasingly stringent requirements on waste water treatment. Because the influences on (natural) water resources are various, an integral and interdisciplinary approach is essential (integrated urban water cycle). Starting from this integral approach the Chair “Environmental Process Engineering” (EPE) develops and designs processes and single process units for for the treatment of environmentally relevant substances. The research activities of the Chair EPE focus on:
- The development and application of novel wastewater treatment technologies (advanced oxidation, biotechnologies, selective adsorption, etc.).
